The revolution will not be televised (but you’ll probably see it on YouTube)

Today I found my not-so-old (but old by today’s standard) camcorder and my imagination went places. I have ideas  for promotional campaigns for an amazing club on campus. I want to make these ideas real. Quick, someone get me some mini-DV tapes, good lighting, decent-looking people, editing software, some clean fonts, and a nice chunk of time. We’re about to get all effective up in here.

People have a media addiction. There is a need for HD this and cool-hip-undiscovered artist that. There are status updates and pages and blog after blog after blog. Everyone’s said it before. You know this, I know this, and the dude down the street knows this. Campus organizations looking to make a name for themselves are faced with limited options: use them or just deny them all together. It’s very easy to see which side I’m on, but there is a right way and a wrong way to approach this. We need to be smart about this.

It’s time for me to grab a notebook and just doodle it all out. I think I might just volunteer myself for this stuff. My love-hate relationship with promotional media knows no bounds.
